Board: INGO Member

Stefano Temporin is the Country Director of Welthungerhilfe (WHH) in Sierra Leone since January 2022.

Stefano is a senior leader with over 20 years of professional experience managing teams in humanitarian and development programmes in Africa (South Sudan, Somaliland, Ethiopia) and Southeast Asia.

A Civil Engineering degree holder, specialized in Water and Sanitation Engineering, Stefano worked for more than 15 years as a WASH Project Manager, both in Africa and Asia.

As Country Director for Welthungerhilfe in South Sudan from 2017, and now in Sierra Leone, Stefano has been providing strategic vision and leadership to the country programmes, in both complex humanitarian operations and in development context.

Together with its partners, Welthungerhilfe supports the rural and urban vulnerable population in Sierra Leone in sustainably improving their livelihoods, their health and their food and nutrition security.

Through a food systems approach and multisectoral advocacy, Welthungerhilfe works with smallholder farmers, deliberately targeting women and youth due to their crucial role in food production and the structural challenges faced by these groups.
